KiitMee is run by a KIIT student, for KIIT students. This page describes exactly what is stored, why it exists, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What we store
- Your college email address. It is how you sign in and the only thing proving you study at KIIT. We never see or store a password — sign-in is a one-time code.
- Your roll number. Taken from the email address itself, since a KIIT address is the roll number. Nothing extra is asked of you.
- Your semester, if you set one, so the catalogue opens where you work.
- A record of each document you open— which document, when, the IP address the request came from, and your browser's user-agent string.
- Payment records, if you buy solutions: the amount, the currency, and the reference numbers Razorpay gives us. Card and UPI details never reach our servers— they are entered inside Razorpay's own payment window.
Why the access record exists
This is the part worth being direct about. Worked solutions are the only thing on KiitMee we made ourselves, and they are what a paid tier depends on. Two things follow from that:
- Every page you view is stamped with your email address, faintly, across the image. If a solution is screenshotted and passed around, that stamp identifies the account it came from.
- The access record lets us spot one account opening hundreds of documents in an hour, which is scraping rather than studying, and slow it down.
We are not tracking what you revise, and nobody reads these records out of curiosity. They are looked at when something is leaked or abused, and otherwise not at all.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no selling or sharing your data with anyone.
- No analytics or tracking scripts. There are no third-party cookies on this site, which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner.
- No marketing email. The only email we send is your sign-in code, plus a receipt if you pay.
Who else handles it
Running the site means a few companies process data on our behalf. Each of them is contractually a processor, not an owner of your data:
- Supabase — accounts and database, hosted in Mumbai (AWS ap-south-1).
- Vercel — runs the website itself.
- Cloudflare R2 — stores the page images of the papers.
- Razorpay — takes payments, and holds the card details we never see.
How long we keep it
Your account and its access records stay while the account exists. Payment records are kept longer because tax and accounting rules require it — typically eight years under Indian law — even after an account is deleted.
Deleting your account
Email us from your KIIT address and we will delete the account, your profile, your access history and any entitlements. It is one action on our side and everything connected to your account goes with it. Payment records are retained as above, reduced to what the tax rules actually require.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, and have it erased. Write to us and we will answer. If we get it wrong you can escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or why, the date at the top changes and we will say so on the site rather than quietly editing it.
Questions, corrections, or a deletion request: see contact, or email support@kiitmee.com.
